MATERIALS: Approaches to Abstract with Pearl Van Geest

These products have been suggested by your instructor for use in class. Please note that these are just examples of appropriate materials, and there are many more choices available in our store.

MATERIALS: oil or acrylic paint (your choice) white, black, burnt umber, raw umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, ultra marine, cerulean blue, cadmium yellow deep, lemon yellow and any other colours you like such as viridiangreen, a selection of brushes: range of sizes & shapes (esp; round, bright, filbert), palette knife (or two), rags, disposable palette, mediums; gel medium if painting in acrylic – and painting mediums as desired (we will talk about these as the weeks go on), small jar of liquin, stand oil and odourless mineral spirits (Gamsol or Taltine) if painting in oil. Canvas boards to other painting supports; please bring at least two canvas boards a minimum size of 9” x 12”. Larger sized canvases will be used in later classes.
