6 WEEKS, THURSDAYS, FEB. 28 – APR. 11, 10 AM – 1 PM
*no class March 14 (March Break)
This course is designed for all levels of ability and combines instruction, critique and independent projects. Each class will begin with a short exercise and students will have the opportunity to develop their own work or revisit previous work that may be incomplete or unresolved. Instruction will be given in painting, drawing, art history and contemporary critical theory. Students are encouraged to develop their own art-making practice and to develop the skills necessary to critique their own work and the works of others. Independent projects can include any and all art-making materials and practices and students will be encouraged to experiment with materials and and/or conceptual frameworks.
MATERIALS: Please bring any materials that you would like to work with, as well as any source material that you would like to use. Also, please bring any unresolved artworks that you would like to have critiqued. Easels and boards will be provided.
