4 WEEKS, THURSDAYS, APRIL 20 – MAY 11, 6:30 - 9:30 PM
Polymer clay is a versatile, easy to learn medium anyone can use to create a range of objects, from functional trinkets to highly detailed sculptures. This four-week course will introduce newbies and intermediate-level sculptors to a variety of techniques: building solid armatures, applying textures, surefire baking methods, incorporating other media like glass and metal, simple press-mold making, and more. Each class introduces a series of related concepts and "hacks" the students can use in their course projects to develop a comprehensive understanding of the medium in 4 bite-sized modules. Feedback and troubleshooting support from our experienced instructors will help students anticipate issues and create their own project plans. Online, the Sculpting with Polymer Clay Facebook group is a place where past students and polymer clay enthusiasts from around the world gather to share tips, tricks, work-in-progress pics, and to discuss all things Sculpey & Fimo. This course is best suited to people with some experience, aged 13 and up.
