GSA DRAW BEGIN: EVE @ NA
DRAWING FOR BEGINNERS: EVENINGS @ NECESSARY ARTS
with Diana Raponi
6 WEEKS, TUESDAYS, APR. 25 – MAY 30, 6:30 – 9:30 PM
Before painting comes drawing. In this class you will learn the fundamentals of drawing. We will begin the class with a basic observation exercise. From there we will experiment with perspective, creating form and depth with the use of light and shadow. The objective in this class is to practice drawing what you see, by making something look 3 dimensional on a flat piece of paper. We will try various techniques to warm up your eyes; modified contour drawing as a quick exercise, pencil marking exercises for perspective, still life drawings, and a fabric exercise to practice form. Each class will build from the next and you will learn diverse drawing techniques such as crosshatching, pointillism, and shading. We and will look at various artists work as examples, guidance and inspiration.
