Get set up to paint in acrylics and learn acrylic painting techniques. We’ll talk about the difference between hard body / soft body paint, differences between cheaper and more expensive paints and touch on mediums. We’ll practice brushwork and experiment with different brushes. We’ll mix our own colours, sketch our composition, and learn painting techniques. Students will put this practice to use by creating a painting. Students will follow along with one small painting to cement techniques and gain confidence after which they will work on their own piece using a reference photo supplied by Lottie. Alternatively, you may bring a landscape reference photo of your own.
Woven into the class is talking about fundamentals like setting up a workspace and caring for brushes and touch on varnishing the piece.
Project: As a group we will paint a small landscape scene. For the personal project students can choose a reference photo and create their own painting on canvas.

Winter Footwear: Please no wet shoes/boots in the GSA. Kindly bring indoor footwear to change into.
