Discover the beauty of plants by highlighting their shape using unconventional textures. Discover the endless possibilities of mark-making or "drawing" using both conventional and unconventional media and textures. Materials like string, lace, beads, and paper are among the items that will be used to bring a textural and sculptural element to your artwork. Using various mixed media techniques taught by the workshop leader and artist Gina Jacklin, students will learn how to incorporate different types of texture, whether it be material or painterly, into their creations. A focus will also be placed on learning about the use of organic, free-flowing forms vs geometric, linear patterns to create abstract and vibrant landscapes that echo your inner reflections.
