Portrait Painting in a Digital Age

with David Caesar

6 Weeks, Wednesdays, January 22 - Feb 26, 6:30 - 9:30 pm

Take a picture - it lasts longer! This course is perfect for when you can’t get anyone to sit still long enough to paint a portrait. Students will learn the process of creating realistic portraits from photographs using acrylic painting techniques that adapt to the possibilities (and limitations) of photo references. They will take inspiration from historical and contemporary artists throughout the course and personal guidance will be available as students take on their own self-directed projects. An intermediate level of drawing experience is highly recommended.
