Join artist/educator, Sigrid Blohm for an afternoon learning about and exploring the nature of Japanese paper.

Sigrid is the resident Fine Paper Specialist at The Japanese Paper Place and is recognized by her colleagues as a living washi encyclopedia. Her depth of knowledge of all things washi is exceptional (some would say, unparalleled!).
After sharing some slides and information about the history, and unique features of Japanese paper, Sigrid will present and discuss pieces of original art from The Japanese Paper Place collection. Duly inspired, you will then have the opportunity to use your favourite media as you test an assortment of washi samples – all yours to keep, of course.
