Instructor: David Caesar
A great opportunity to practice your observation skills!
Suitable for all levels of ability, these classes will be self-directed, starting with a brief chat about the qualities of the subject matter by the instructor. Assistance will be offered to those who need help, checking in with artists and discussing their work throughout the session.
Each class will focus on a single still-life, with an emphasis on composition and light and shadow. Each still life will focus on a particular theme - drapery, reflective, structured, floral, etc., changing from session to session.
The classroom will be set up with drawing donkeys, table top and standing easels. Participants are welcome to bring any medium, wet or dry, and are to come fully prepared. Any solvent for oil should be odourless and oil painters should bring their own rags and a plastic bag in which to bring the rags and used brushes back home.
