It is no surprise that the human experience is too often cruel. Just when your footing is found and you begin to take root, an unexpected shift sends you flailing and face down in the bristly undergrowth. Dreams are a welcome escape. The boundless and vibrant scenes of the mind's eye are reminders of the importance of make-believe. In dreamscapes, I make tangible the glimmering animations of my own inner fantasies. These works are formulated without physical reference matter. Instead, I tap into my brain’s archive of idealistic environments, with movements of the paintbrush gently pushing me further into my own daydreams. Fine details and uninhibited lines further reflect the swirling possibilities of one’s own imagination – a place free of the strain of waking life.
