Garth is a multi-disciplinary artist located in Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia, Canada. He illustrates children’s books, board games, comics, and also animates videos for a variety of clients. While Garth enjoys employing a variety of artistic stylization in his illustration and animation work, his work has been described as “imaginative, whimsical, and fantastical”. Garth primarily paints in oil paint, primarily painting landscapes around his region in Canada in a unique, impressionist style. He is inspired by many of the European and Canadian impressionists such as Cezanne, Monet, Maximilien Luce, Helen McNicoll, Clarence Gagnon, and others such as Anders Zorn and Alphonse Mucha.
Garth teaches a variety of art classes online to meet the growing desire for traditional art education that prioritizes applied skills in the arts: drawing people, objects, environments, perspective, and applying these skills to create stories from your imagination. In these group and solo classes, he provides personalized, all-inclusive curriculum, online group meet-ups, frequent Q&A, and plenty of individual feedback. He assists those who are interested in studying art professionally for a career, and has helped many students to get into various art schools such as Sheridan College, CalArts, OCAD, Ringling School of Art & Design, RISD, and Art Center.
