Greg McDonaldGreg McDonald is an Oakville Ontario based visual artist working primarily in ink and watercolour. His work explores the emotional resonance of everyday scenes, using impressionistic techniques to capture fleeting moments in time. His goal is to slow down the viewer’s experience and invite them into a quiet reflection of place and emotion. His work has been in the Southampton Arts Gallery where he is also an instructor of watercolour and ink sketching. He is currently working on a series that explores memory and place through fragmented urban landscapes. Email: grgmcdonald@icloud.com

Tracy BlackwoodA traditional Newfoundland song called “Me Rubber Boots On” was the inspiration for this series. A quintessential part of the fishery uniform is the humble Rubber Boots. Within my artwork, giving the Rubber Boots (an often taken-for-granted protective covering) a place of focus and attention elevates this simple footwear to a contributing feature of Newfoundland storytelling of life on the sea.
