In this low-risk introductory crash course students will learn the basics of oil painting. Topics discussed in this two class course are as follows:

Colour and colour mixing
-
Care and maintenance of brushes and other tools
-
Understanding painting mediums
-
The process of underpainting
-
Discussion of how to prepare painting supports
Students will work towards and complete a small still life by the end of the second workshop.
All materials for this workshop are included.
Please Note: Solvents will be used in this class, and oil paints do have an odor. If you are sensitive to strong odors, you may consider bringing a mask that has odor blocking properties, for example the 3M 8247 R95 or equivalent
