Ground Floor Arts Print Studio

Alongside our retail shop of hand pulled prints from local printmakers, gallery and classroom, we are excited to welcome you to the Ground Floor Arts Print Studio.

Whether you are looking for space to work on your own print project, have an idea and are looking for guidance as you print or want to know more about printmaking and our presses, this space is for you!

Time in our Print Studio is generally self-directed and some print experience is recommended, but our knowledgeable staff are well versed in a variety of printmaking techniques and are available to support and troubleshoot through your project.  

Never printed before? Drop in to the shop during open hours for a tour and overview of our presses and print studio.

Meet our Presses (and Button Maker!)

We have 3 presses available for use during your print time:

Woodzilla Press A3 Wide Base
Great for medium to large relief printing with wood blocks or linoleum. The wide base allows you to easily print on paper, totes and t-shirts with uniform pressure

Richeson Etching Press
Suitable for collagraph printing, engraving, drypoint and monoprint techniques
13"x26" bed size

Fome Etching Press
Suitable for collagraph printing, engraving, drypoint and monoprint techniques
12.5"x24" bed size 

Heavy Duty Button Press  Makes 1-1/4" round pin-backed buttons.  Button blanks are available for purchase.

While we have some tools and basic supplies available for use, you should come prepared with paper or fabric to print on and printing blocks/plates.

*Please note the studio is a solvent-free space and mineral oil should be used to clean up oil-based inks.

Rental rate is $10.00/hr.  You will have the equipment and work table to yourself and a friend.  There may be a class in session in our workshop area during your booking.  Our regular hours of operation are Wed-Sat 11-6 and Sunday 11-4.  The last time slot ends one hour before the space closes, and you are expected to allow yourself extra time for clean up.
