3 Weeks, Saturdays, January 10th, 17th, 24th, 10:00am - 12:30pm
Instructor: Grazyna Adamska-Jarecka
The workshop is recommended for individuals having some experience in landscape painting in any medium who are seeking for a moderate shift toward abstraction. Would you like to paint landscapes using a simplified language of painting and drawing? Paintings that merely suggest a landscape can be more powerful than highly detailed works. Develop and explore the relationship between subject matter and method based on subjective synthesis. Creating these works involves what you know, feel and imagine about nature. The instructor will show photographs of the stages involved in creating her works. Our goal is to create semi- abstract landscapes using photographic references. To this end, we will borrow only the primary impression from the staged scene and learn to freely rearrange its elements. This workshop can encourage you to abolish one-point perspective and create more advanced abstract works.
