Made of high alpha-cellulose paper and the look, performance and archival quality of 100% cotton at a far more affordable price. Each glue-bound pad contains 15 140lb (300gsm) sheets of high-quality, white, cold press paper
Coming from a specialized mill in Europe, Fluid + Fluid 100 watercolor paper arrives to Speedball in large stacks of sheets to undergo a several step process to reach its final form for use by artists. After initially arriving, the sheets are individually counted and weighed to be organized into set amounts per stack. The sheets then get cut down to their final size on a large cutter machine. For products in the dual bound easy block construction, sheets are then stacked and hand fed into a gluing machine to bind the edges before having a cover hand applied to complete the process. With employees involved in the process with counting sheets, handling, and applying covers ensures consistent quality standards are met.
What is the difference between cold press and hot press papers?
The main distinction between cold press and hot press papers is the finish. Cold press papers have a textured finish, while hot press papers have a smoother finish.
