GOLDEN Gesso is a flexible, ready-to-use acrylic dispersion ground that prepares a substrate or surface to accept paints by providing “tooth” to promote paint adhesion.
- Semi-opaque waterborne acrylic dispersion ground

- Suitable for acrylic and oil paints (and many other media)

Application
- Stir before use; some settling is expected
- Ready to use; can be thinned with water up to 25%
- Appropriate on canvas, panel and various acrylic-receptive surfaces
- Can be brush, trowel, or spray-applied (rolling may produce foam)
- Allow 1 -3 hours between applications, depending upon environment
- Can be mixed with GOLDEN Acrylics to produce range of colored grounds
- Gesso can be modified with most GOLDEN Gels & Mediums to increase flexibility, lower tooth and absorbency
- Thin applications are recommended, thick single-applications may crack
- Thin applications can conform to a variety of textures without cracking

- Always test before your application for best results

Drying/Curing Time:
- A 10 mil wet film will dry to touch within 2 hours when the temperature is above 65°F and humidity is below 70%. Thicker films cure much more slowly. Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity slow the drying process considerably.
Storage
Store in a cool/dry location at temperatures above 50° F, ideally between 60° F & 90° F. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as well as exposure to temperatures exceeding 120° F for extended periods.
