Saturday, October 26th, 1pm - 4pm.
Instructor is Allison Rostic, the artist behind Red Squirrel Tail.
In this workshop you will needle-felt a chunky red amanita mushroom with white spots from wool. Needle felting uses a barbed needle to condense wool fibres into shapes.
We will create an armature out of pipe cleaners for the stem of the mushroom and learn techniques to create the gills on the underside of the mushroom. We will felt a rounded mushroom cap and attach the stem to the mushroom cap. Finally we will add little spots to the bright red mushroom cap.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and at the end of this workshop students will be able to create pipe cleaner armatures and needle felt chunky three dimensional shapes as well as fine details out of wool.
Needles are very sharp so caution is needed when felting.
