Speedball Screenprint Drawing Fluid

This high-quality Speedball product works to create a painted stencil on your screen and is ideal for use on designs that feature detailed hand-drawn images or those possessing a “painterly” quality.  It carries the AP Seal and Speedball’s Screen Drawing Fluid is easily removed with Speedball’s Speed Clean to reclaim the screen.

Apply with brush, allow fluid to dry, then coat the screen with screen filler. When dry, the drawing fluid can be washed out, allowing the drawn image to be printed.

Screen Filler + Drawing Fluid Method

If you're new to screen printing, how do you decide what technique is right for you? Put simply, the Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler method of screen printing is a direct, low-tech technique where you paint your image with the water-soluble Drawing Fluid (like a resist), then apply the waterproof Screen Filler over the entire screen. After drying, the Drawing Fluid is washed out, leaving a stencil where the ink can pass through. It's ideal for hand-drawn designs and creates a painterly quality without photomechanical steps, using the fluid to mask areas you want to print and the filler to block everything else.
