Introduction to Monotype Printing From Nature

This workshop is open to beginners as well as more experienced artists, with a focus on printing plant textures on paper.  We will be transferring plant imagery, shapes and textures through monotype printmaking onto paper using an etching press. Monotype printing is a fun way to create your own one-of-a-kind works on paper.

All papers, inks, and tools will be provided in this workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring some of their own pressed plant materials, but some will also be available. The prints we create can be complete on their own or used with other mediums and projects.

No solvents will be used in this workshop, though we will be using oil based inks. All clean up will be with mineral oil and dish soap.  Bring ‘studio clothes’ or an apron and a snack.
