4 weeks: Sundays, June 28th, July 5th, July 12th and July 19th 10am-1pm
Instructor is 13brokenhorses (BrianMcPhee)
Painting in gouache or acrylic, participants, working in sketchbooks, will be guided through three simple steps to constructing strong compositions. Cityscapes or landscapes will be the subjects, as participants will : block in big simple shapes, identify local value, and address colour temperature and saturation in their compositions.
Students will bring in a series of photos of land/cityscapes and will be shown how to remove unnecessary information from photo reference. Students will paint directly in sketchbooks and produce very simple full colour studies.
This class is suitable for beginner painters and for those with some painting experience looking to expand their existing skills
