While getting to know each other, two artists unknown to each other before being invited to exhibit together, discovered a sensibility and contemplative nature common to the expression in their art work.
‘Incidental Moods’ describes the day to day emotional states and experiences Natalie and Mark rely on when making decisions involved in the creation of their work. Their subject matter draws inspiration from nature, whether immersed in it or when contemplating it; a conflicting mood of stillness and turbulence, of passion and resignation runs like a thread through their imagery, the presence of the human form not actual but subtly implied.

As an artist, philosopher and therapist, Natalie brings her emotions and reflections on our place in the world into her paintings, exploring the earth and skies through semi-abstract and gestural, moody tones. Considerations of existential and philosophical musings are often mirrored in the vastness of the skies and waters that feature in her subject matter, along with conceptions of deep time, histories and futures.
Her works include oils, acrylics, watercolours and mixed media as she chooses the medium that best melds with her need for tactile connections in the moment. Natalie has shown select pieces locally (Guelph, Orangeville etc.) in group shows and finds meaning in the connections nurtured through the resonance with those who choose to bring home a piece that speaks to them.
